Carolina Kostner – Italian Princess

Carolina Kostner Her season was up and down but anyway, for the Italy she is a Princess. Carolina has already established herself as the greatest figure skater in Italian history. Among her many firsts are the first to win a medal at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships, the first to win a silver medal at Worlds, the first to win Europeans, the first to win a Grand Prix event, and the first to medal at the ISU Grand Prix Final.

The technical content of Carolina’s programs is always quite high. Elements she can do perfectly: a triple flip-triple toeloop-double loop, a double Axel-triple toeloop, a triple Salchow-double toeloop combination, a double Axel, triple loop, triple flip, and triple Lutz. She like the Lutz,it’s her favorite jump.

Carolina, who is also known for her speed on the ice, can do almost any triple-triple combination.

Sometimes she make a mistakes in the technical part of the program, but her choreography is always perfect.

Torino 2010 – Ladies Free skate

Laura Lepisto Results:

1.Mao Asada(Japan)-197.58

2.Yu-Na Kim(Korea)-190.79

3.Laura Lepisto(Finland)-178.62

4.Miki Ando(Japan)-177.82

5.Cynthia Phaneuf(Canada)-177.54

Mao Asada won the World Championships Gold. She skated good, clean, like in manual. She’s very good technician. About artistry there are some doubts. Anyway she did a great job. The same I can say about Yu-Na Kim. She jumped to a silver medal despite huge points distance and mistakes in both programs. Hmm. It’s no secret that officials loves her, sometimes they do it too much.

Torino 2010 – Free dance

5.Sinead Kerr/John Kerr(Great Britain)-189.11

Thank you Massimo and thank you Federica! It was awesome! I seen this performance many times during this season. But I will never tire of looking at it. They deserve this medal so much and I’m very happy they finally have it. Great skaters, great performance, great music.

Torino 2010 – Ladies’ Short program

1.Mirai Nagasu(USA)-70.40

4.Carolina Kostner(Italy)-62.20

5.Ksenia Makarova(Russia)-62.06

I think we have a big sensation. Yu-Na-Kim isn’t in a leadership. First thoughts – it’s unbelievable. But Yu-Na-Kim isn’t a robot as some people think. She had a very difficult season and these mistakes because of tiredness I think.

Torino 2010 – Men’s Free skate

Daisuke Takahashi Results:

1.Daisuke Takahashi(Japan)-257.70

2.Patrick Chan(Canada)-247.22

3.Brian Joubert(France)-241.44

4.Michal Brezina(Czech Rep.)-236.06

5.Jeremy Abbott(USA)-232.10

I’m very happy for Brian Joubert. Finally he is on the way to his best conditions. This man is full of different emotions and sometimes these things prevent him in figure skating events. But from now I hope we will see only real Brian Joubert on the ice. He can do practically all difficult elements and components. And his presentation don’t need comments.
