Davis / White – Ice Dance Commanders

At the end of the Olympic season I called the skating of Canadians Tessa Virtue/Scott Moir and Americans Meryl Davis/Charlie White as the real revolution in ice dancing in the best sense of the word. This season proves my words.

Just look what a high level of performance demonstrates in the modern ice dancing! We can see how increased speed, the complexity and diversity of programs. As well many new ideas emerged from coaches and choreographers. Americans and Canadians have set a new pace of development in ice dancing. They and their excellent coaches brought to this kind of figure skating a new refreshing breeze.

Without a doubt, this period will be inscribed in the history of figure skating and into textbooks of this sport. Also I am sure that the children’s skating schools now have a lot of new little students because of these outstanding masters. The Olympic medal are very valuable but even more valuable is what an invaluable contribution to the development of ice dancing made skaters such as Meryl and Charlie. It’s just priceless.
