Russian Ice Dance Teams are ready for the European Championships

In Novogorsk the Russia’s ice dance teams brings the final touches to its programs, costumes and music before the European Championships which starts next week in Bern. As is well known the Russian team in ice dancing in Bern will be represented by the National champions Ekaterina Bobrova/Dmitri Soloviev, silver medalists Ekaterina Riazanova/Ilia Tkachenko and by the bronze medalists Elena Ilinykh/Nikita Katsalapov.

All three dance duo have their own unique style that complements their high level. Each of the skaters came pretty seriously in the preparation, adjustments, and various changes in their programs. But what unites them all it is a passionate attitude toward the cause to which they devote long hours in the day and the presence of a true sports character.

Despite a rather busy schedule of the training camp, the guys taking the time and briefly shared their breaking news, goals, and, of course, the mood before the main figure skating competition of Europe.

Ekaterina Bobrova/Dmitri Soloviev: “We prepared as usual, without excessive training loads, rather slightly decreased them. We changed the music, image and costumes for the short dance. We plan to show a clean, emotional, technical and beautiful skating. And of course, get yourself the pleasure of our performances. Then with all these details we can count to be in high places on the standings. We hope that we will succeed“.

Ekaterina Riazanova/Ilia Tkachenko: “Our preparations went well. We changed one spin, also worked on the emotional side of our programs and the purity of the elements. So everything is fine. Our goal is to show good performances. We want to leave a good impression of us. Our mood is perfect!”.


Elena Ilinykh/Nikita Katsalapov: “We are preparing very seriously, because for us it is a great honor to skate at the European Championships and represent our country. We have no major changes in programs. We basically did the emphasis on working of all elements. Our goals are to demonstrate the good skating performances. Also, we would like to show our progress since the Russian Championships”.
