Skating On Air: Book Signing

By Vladislav Luchianov

You probably heard about the appearance of a new book in the world of figure skating. If not yet, I suggest you to read my interview with Kelli Lawrence, the author of Skating on Air: The Broadcast History of an Olympic Marquee Sport.

Kelli has done a tremendous amount of work in the process of creating this book. I can confidently say that among the books of figure skating her book is different in theme and style. For the first time someone decided to reveal in detail the subject of the role of television in figure skating. She interviewed many professionals from the well-known channels such as ABC, ESPN, NBC, CBS. You will learn a lot from the world of sports television and will be able to see this world through the eyes of those who creates it.

Frankly saying I’m just amazed at how it was possible to do such a great job while doing her daily job as a freelance writer and producer and raising two children as a mom! The answer probably can be only one – a sincere passion for figure skating.

This weekend Kelli will hold a book signing. This event will be held in the Chicago suburb of Oak Park on Saturday, June 25, Noon-3PM Chicago time.

The Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave. (corner of Oak Park Ave. and Washington Blvd.)

If you reside near Chicago area, I advise you to attend this event where you can not only get the book signed by the author but also ask your questions.
