Daisuke Takahashi: “Winning is not the only goal in skating”
I think that I will not be mistaken, if I will name Daisuke Takahashi as one of the most beloved world skaters by the skating audience. And I think it’s not only because he is the 2010 World Champion and 2010 Olympic bronze medalist. People call such skaters as true creators. He approaches to each of the programs with carefulness. This applies both to the technical part of the skating and to the artistry.
This summer he went to France specially to work with such professionals as Muriel Boucher-Zazoui, Romain Haguenauer and Olivier Schoenfelder. I’m confident that these professionals gave him a lot from their experience.
Daisuke is resolutely look forward to the new season and even more resolutely look forward to his preparation for the Olympic Games in Sochi. But, by his own words, winning is not the only goal. Figure skating for him is a huge world of creativity. Daisuke constantly finds in it something new and shares them with spectators. He gets great pleasure from a dialogue with the audience, which in turn is responsible to him in return.
