Julia Lipnitskaia earns spot for Junior Worlds

The silver medalist of the seniors’ Russian Nationals 2012 Julia Lipnitskaia won the champions title at the 2012 Russian Junior Championships, which took place this week in Novogorsk.

Lipnitskaia skated the ideal free skate program which was also filled with difficult skating cascades: double axel – triple toe – triple toe and double Axel – triple toe.

The student of Eteri Tutberidze and the winner of the Junior Grand Prix Final 2011/12 earned 191.92 points overall. Julia will be one of Russia’s representatives at the World Junior Championships in Minsk, Belarus.

The second place took another Tutberidze’s student Polina Shelepen, who also skated very strong and clean free program earning 182.54 points in total. The bronze medal went to Elena Radionova – 178.94 points.
