Julia Lipnitskaia of Russia took a strong lead in ladies at the 2012 World Junior Figure Skating Championships. She performed her short program very clean as well as all planned elements – double Axel, triple toe – triple toe combination and a triple Lutz.

Her spins were as usual very beautiful, strong and performed for the highest level of difficulty.  She scored 63.09 points. American Gracie Gold put out a strong and elegant performance earning 58.00 points. Reigning World Junior Champion and three-time Russia’s National Champion Adelina Sotnikova skated her short program well but with a mistake on one of her spins.  She scored 56.57 points. It’s worthy to note that all three girls performed triple – triple combinations in their programs.
