Leonova looks forward to good results in Nice
Russian skater Alena Leonova said she looks forward to a good result at the upcoming World Figure Skating Championships, which will take place in the French Nice between March 26 and April 1.
This season Leonova decided to compete at three Grand Prix competitions. She finished fourth at the 2011 Skate Canada and then took bronze at the 2011 NHK Trophy and silver medal at the 2011 Rostelecom Cup to qualify for her second Grand Prix Final. At the GP Final she won the bronze medal.
She also won the bronze at the 2012 Russian National Championships. At the 2012 European Championships in Sheffield she finished 7th and sustained an injury to her left knee during the free skate.
“Of course, I look forward for the result which will be no worse than in last year when I finished fourth. I want to hold this position or raise above, that will be much better. I started early my preparation for the World Championships and I worked really hard.” said Leonova to All Sports agency.
“I want very much to perform well there. I’m glad that the Worlds will be held in Nice, I love to compete there. This will be my sixth competitive visit to Nice, and this city and this ice rink are lucky for me.” she added.
