Alexei Mishin: “Plushenko is completely healthy”
2006 Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko of Russia is currently at the training camp in the Italian town of Pinzolo, where he work with the Japanese choreographer Kenji Miyamoto on his new free skate program to Nino Rota’s “Romeo and Juliet”, said coach Alexei Mishin to RSport agency.
Last season, 29-year-old Plushenko returned to competitive skating after the pause of almost two years, winning the Russian national championships and 2012 European championships, and then finished the season because of knee problems.
“The main conclusion, which I did after Plushenko arrived at the training camp in Italy after ice shows in China and Japan, is that he is completely healthy,” told Mishin. “Plushenko will be at the training camp in Italy until July 2. After that he will participate in exhibition performances and then will back to work with me at the training camp in Estonia.” he added.
The winner of 2011 Skate Canada and 2011 Trophée Eric Bompard Elizaveta Tuktamisheva is also in Pinzolo.
“Lisa is preparing two new very interesting programs, which she did with Canadian choreographer David Wilson.” Mishin noted.
