Russian skating stars bring a piece of Sochi to London Olympics
From July 29th to August 7th, at the 2012 London Olympics, the guests of the Kensington Gardens will have an opportunity to watch a grandiose ice show at Russia.Sochi.Park: “Sochi: Small Stories of a Big City”.
Six Olympic champions and 18 World Champions, including such well-known skaters as Alexei Yagudin, Tatiana Navka and Roman Kostomarov, Ilya Averbukh, Tatiana Totmianina and Maksim Marinin are involved in this big performance, which will be presented by the world champion and the medalist of 2002 Winter Olympics Ilya Averbukh.
In total, more than a dozen theatrical performances will be seen by people during the Olympic Games in London at the Sochi.Park ice rink.
The project “Sochi: Small Stories of a Big City” is a new benchmark in the genre of ice skating performances which will bring together the dynamics of figure skating, the art of dance, the emotions of a dramatic scene and circus art. An ice show on such a scale will be presented abroad for the first time; therefore all the visitors of the Russia.Sochi.Park can expect a really unique sight.
During the evenings, the Sochi.Park ice arena will transform into a winter wonderland in a London summer, creating an atmosphere which will captivate at the 2014 Games in Sochi.
