Tanja Kolbe and Stefano Caruso teamed up again
The German ice dance team of Tanja Kolbe and Stefano Caruso teamed up again, German media report. Recall that they split up after the 2012 European Championships in Sheffield, where the duo finished 12th.
The main reason for the collapse of this team was the Kolbe’s refusal to train and live in Milan. After five months of separation they came to an agreement, fortunately for both athletes.
Kolbe and Caruso will work in Berlin under the direction of René Lohse. Barbara Fusar Poli remains at the position of their head coach.
From 2003 to 2006, Kolbe competed with Paul Boll. In 2006, she teamed up with Sascha Rabe. Kolbe and Rabe are the 2009 German bronze medalists. Rabe finished his skating career in 2010. Later that year, Kolbe teamed up with Italian ice dancer Stefano Caruso.
Stefano Caruso earlier competed for Italy. He teamed up with Isabella Pajardi in 2000. They are the 2008 Italian junior national champions and placed 9th at the 2008 World Junior Championships. The duo slit up in 2010.
