Asada confirmed participation at Japan Open

2010 Winter Olympic silver medalist and a two-time World champion Mao Asada confirmed her intention to participate at the Japan Open, which will be held on October, 6 at the Saitama Super Arena.

The Japan Open is an annual senior international figure skating team competition organized by the Japan Skating Federation. It is held every autumn in Japan. Invited skaters compete in the disciplines of men’s and ladies singles. Skaters perform a free program but no short. Individual results are combined for a team standing.

This year, their desire to participate in this tournament, which traditionally opens the season of figure skating, are also expressed such famous Japanese skaters as Akiko Suzuki, Daisuke Takahashi and Takahiko Kozuka.

Also became known that the tournament will be attended by Evgeni Plushenko and Michal Brezina, who will represent the team of Europe. A complete list of participants of the Japan Open 2012 will be known later.
