Elena Radionova dominates at her debut Junior Grand Prix

Elena Radionova

Russian Elena Radionova did not leave any chance to her rivals in the short program at her debut Junior Grand Prix event. In French Courchevel she performed flawlessly her short program consisting of very difficult and high level spins, step sequences, spirals and a triple – triple jumping combination.

No less impressive was the choreographic component of her short program. Another impressive thing is that her SP Technical Element Score 36.61 is above what is required for a male skater at the World Championships. Elena Radionova received 61.15 points overall.

Her team-mate, also Junior Grand Prix debutant, Uliana Titushkina has not become puzzled and was very strong and confident during her short program. She finished second with 53.62 points. Japanese Rika Hongo scored 53.16 points. She’s currently at third place.

Today the competitions will be continued with men’s short programs and tomorrow junior ice dancers will open their skating season.
