Volosozhar, Trankov to check programs in Oberstdorf
Oberstdorf, Germany – Today in Oberstdorf begins the 2012 Nebelhorn Trophy – one of the most famous international tournaments leading up to the Grand Prix series.
It will be the first official start for the two-time World vice-champions in pair skating Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov of Russia.
Pair skaters told about their main goals at this tournament.
“Last year we wanted to earn ranking points, and now we just want to check and test our new programs; present them to the judges before our first start in the Grand Prix series at Skate America.” said skaters to media.
Tatiana also told about her image in the short program to the music from The Godfather movie.
“You know, I like to be different. Last year in our free skating program I tried to embody the two swans on the ice: the black and white. The current short program is a new look. At the ice show “Art on Ice” Maxim and I already had a similar program and perhaps this experience helps us to feel comfortable.” Tatiana continued.
Figure skaters are also planning to make their free skating program more complex.
“We gradually came to this, each season adding one complex element to the second half of the program. In terms of choreography everything will be the same but we will develop this part of the program during the season. Meanwhile, we will pay our main attention to the technique and quality of our elements.” she noted.
