Julia Lipnitskaia will not take part in the Grand Prix Final due to injury.

“Wednesday, during a training session Julia accidentally fell and got injury. Doctors recommended her to refrain from participating in the nearest competition,” said Alexander Gorshkov, the President of Figure Skating Federation of Russia, at the official website of the organization.

“For this reason, unfortunately, Lipnitskaia will not participate in the Grand Prix Final. Of course,  this was a complete unexpectedness for all of us but in the sport no one is insured from injuries.” Gorshkov added.

At this season’s Grand Prix circuit Julia Lipnitskaia took silver medal at 2012 Cup of China and bronze at 2012 Trophee Eric Bompard in Paris.

In Grand Prix Final Russian figure skater will be replaced by American Christina Gao, who is the first substitute.
