Meryl Davis and Charlie White perform free dance at Grand Prix event

American ice dance team of Meryl Davis/Charlie White won their fourth Grand Prix Final champion’s title.

Meryl Davis/ Charlie White edged out the 2010 Olympic champions Tessa Virtue/Scott Moir, forcing the Canadians into their third runner-up finish at the finals.

Davis and White performed a turbulent and passionate free dance to the music of Notre Dame de Paris, scoring a season-best of 183.39 points, 3.56 ahead of the Canadians (179.83), one of two pairs to dance to Shchedrin’s Carmen Suite.

French team of Nathalie Pechalat/Fabian Bourzat finished on the finals podium for the fourth time with third place. Their 1960s-inspired free dance to a Rolling Stones medley earned the French duo a season-best score of 101.48 and a total score of 170.18.
