Radionova brings another gold for Russian juniors

Elena Radionova of Russia won the gold medal at the ongoing junior Grand Prix Final, ahead of American Hannah Miller and another Russian skater Anna Pogorilaya.

Elena Radionova, who led after the short program, performed her free skating flawlessly and very strong. She coped with all the elements and got 118.50 points. By the sum of the two programs she received 179.40 points.

“Elena’s free skating program is very difficult,” said Inna Goncharenko, the coach, to Sport-Express. “We put two difficult cascades at the very beginning of the program and one of our goals in Sochi was to cope with them. She did it. Everything turned out very well, we are very happy.” she added.

“I am very happy with my performance,” Radionova told the press. “I performed all the jumps and all the elements. During the skating i had a very good mood. I had to perform calmly and confidently. I really wanted to win and I did it.” said Radionova.

American Hannah Miller finished with a result of 168.41 points and Anna Pogorilaya got 167.40 points.
