Japan’s Daisuke Takahashi took the lead after men’s short program in Grand Prix Final, which takes place in “Iceberg” Skating Palace, Sochi.

Daisuke Takahashi was the only skater, who performed a short program without errors. He made a quadruple toe loop, a cascade of a triple Lutz – triple toe loop and the Axel in three and a half turns. His artistry was at a very high level, as always. 2012 World silver medalist earned 92.29 points.

“I finally landed the quad, so I’m very happy about that,” Takahashi commented. “For the last few days, it hasn’t been in the best condition but finally my practice has produced the outcome and I’m feeling that I’ve grown.” he added.

Two-time World champion Patrick Chan of Canada made a quad jump and Axel, but made a mistake during the execution of cascade of triples. He got 89.27 points. Another Japan’s skater Yuzuru Hanyu is third with 87.17 points.
