Russia’s Gosviani to compete in Poland for ISU technical minimum
Russia’s Nikol Gosviani will compete at the 2013 Mentor Nestle Nesquick Cup in the Polish city of Torun this January. Russian skater lacks the minimum technical points of ISU, which are required to participate at the European Championships.
Gosviani became a member of the Russian team by the results of the national championships, which was held last week in Sochi. She finished sixth with a result of 170.67 points.
The first two spots for Europeans got Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, who won the nationals and Adelina Sotnikova, who finished third. Nikol Gosviani was the best of other participants who are age eligible to perform at the European Championships.
In order to have a right to compete at the continental event, Gosviani should earn for the technique at the ISU official international competition at least 20 points in the short program and 36 points in free skating.
Competitions in Torun will be held from January 10-12. 2013 European championships will be held from January 21 through January 27, 2013 in the Dom Sportova in Zagreb, Croatia.
