Yagudin to help Amodio with consultation
2002 Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin of Russia will work with a French skater Florent Amodio as a consultant.
One of the most successful skaters of modern era is going to help 2011 European champion in his preparation for the coming Olympic season.
“I will not coaching him because I’m not his coach. It is all about a consultation only. I go to France in a few days and there I will work with Florent on technical aspects of his skating.” Yagudin told Itar-Tass news agency.
“I will stay there just a few days. Once again, I want to note that I‘m not going to do a full time coaching. Such work requires a full dedication. I still want to develop myself in a different direction, so it will be only a consultation.” Salt Lake City Olympic champion noted.
“The president of the French figure skating federation asked me to help. I’m pleased to be invited to take part in such an important work.” Yagudin added.
On July 23, 2013 it was reported that Amodio had left coach Nikolai Morozov and was training in Paris with Katia Krier as a temporary arrangement.
